Edna Marie Burke Murphy age 98 of Christiansburg, Virginia passed away Wednesday March 15 ^th after a lengthy stay in Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center in Galax, Virginia.

She was born on December 27, 1924 to John Rufus and Kate Sowers of Riner, Virginia. In addition to her parents,  she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Murphy; brothers Omly Burke and Roy Burke; sisters Kellie Hepner and Ellie Burke.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Toni Murphy of Claudevlle, Virginia; granddaughters Kendall Murphy of London, England  and Amber Murphy of Stanford, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.

No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Services in her memory.
