Edna Thompson Custer, 94, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, in Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Custer was born October 17, 1921 in Surry County, North Carolina to the late Loffie Thompson and Ellis Mae June Bartlett Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Custer.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-Law W. Craig and Pat Cruise of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandsons Bruce Cruise, Keith Cruise, and Mark Cruise. Several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 1:00 PM until service time.
