It is with great sadness that we announce that our mother, Edith Whitaker passed away on June 13, 2023. It is with profound joy that we believe she is now in a better place with her Lord and Savior, celebrating with those who have gone before her.
Edith was a kind, compassionate, and loving mother. Her family and friends will miss her witty conversations, endless support, and warm embrace.
She dedicated her career to helping others as a brilliant and caring nurse. She worked in many areas of healthcare to include mental health, substance abuse treatment, respiratory therapy, emergency care, and elder care.
Edith was a talented singer whose voice will be missed by all who had the pleasure of hearing her perform. She had a passion for writing poetry and turned many of her writings into songs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed peaceful country drives. Edith delighted at opportunities to travel the country with her beloved family. She was an outstanding cook and we will all miss her carrot cake, lasagna, and home-made spaghetti.
