Edith Carpenter Riggins, age 90, of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday December 5, 2021 in her home.

Edith was born in Carroll County, Virginia to Elmer and Mamie Fain Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Nelson Riggins, Sr., one sister, one brother, and one brother-in-law.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Bobby and Deborah Riggins of Bluefield, West Virginia, Ken and Mary Riggins of Troutdale, Virginia, David and Patricia Riggins of St. James, Missouri; grandchildren and their spouses Jamie Riggins, Kara and Michael Ringenbach, Robert Riggins, Kenny and Sarah Riggins, Daniel and Stephanie Riggins, Gary Riggins, Ben and Nancy Riggins, and Laura Riggins. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Olivia Ringenbach, Cameron Ringenbach, Autumn Ringenbach, John Riggins, Luke Riggins, Claire Riggins, Lydia Riggins, Mark Riggins; nieces and nephews Stanley Carpenter, Nona Carpenter Donithan, John Carpenter, and Jimmy Carpenter.

The funeral service will be held Thursday December 9, 2021 at 2:00PM in Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. James Billings officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
