Edith Elizabeth Martin Burris age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Burris was born on March 30, 1935 in Fries, Virginia to William Ernest and Mamie Carico Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.

She is survived by her step-grandson Whitney Donithan of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, special friends and caregivers Mary Martin and Debbie Lambert; host of cousins, friends and neighbors and her wonderful family at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center..

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Matthew Adams officiating.

Burial will follow in the Summerfield Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
