Edith Mae Funk Bennett age 95 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Grayson County, Virginia on August 10, 1919 to Marzell and Emma Patton Funk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow G. Bennett.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Glenda B. & Jack Fisher of Fredericksburg, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Sue Bennett of Hillsville, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law M.J. and Burline Funk of Galax, Virginia; three grandchildren Edie Muller, Andy Fisher and Andy Bennett; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; close friend and neighbor Dot Wilkerson.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Stevens Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor Bobbie Dunford, the Rev. James Cowley and the Rev. Tim Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Stevens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
