Edgar Ray Wilson age 87 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday December 22, 2022 at the Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Wilson was born on July 2, 1935 in Grayson County, Virginia to Austin and Alma Phibbs Wilson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Robinson and a brother James Wilson.

He  is survived by his wife Willa Dean Shinault Wilson of Fries, Virginia; daughters Angie Leagans of Fries, Virginia; Sherry Ann Whitaker of Sparta, North Carolina; son Eric Ray Wilson of Fries, Virginia; sisters Frances Anders of Fries, Virginia; Violet Dalton of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Lewis Wilson; Doc Wilson both of Fries, Virginia; Hurley and Linda Wilson of Galax, Virginia; Lacy and Barbara Wilson of Marion, Virginia; one grandson Robert Whitaker; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Fries Cemetery with Pastor Tony Vaughan officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
