Edgar Mayo Martin, age 72, of Galax, VA, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the Forsyth Medical Hospital, Winston Salem, NC.

Mr. Martin was born Sept. 21, 1940 in Carroll County to Ross and Norma Lee Quesinberry Martin.

He is survived by his wife Verna Lou Martin,Galax, VA; daughter and son-in-law: Jeanie and Craig Quesenberry, Galax, VA, sons and daughter-in-law, Jason Martin, Hillsville, VA, Robert and Heather Martin, Woodlawn, VA; step-children and spouses, Jerry & Bonnie Smith, Hillsville, VA, Talma & Jim Rutherford, Jewett, Ohio, Larry & Karen Smith and Lisa Fields both of Galax, VA; sister & brother-in-law, Reva and Vinson Goad, Dugspur, Va; brothers & sisters-in-law, Elton and Anna Ruth Martin, Woodlawn, VA, Carl and Arlene Martin, Hillsville, VA, Erwin and Betty Martin, Galax, VA; sister-in-law, Opal Martin, Woodlawn, Va; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Nathan Crowe. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA.
