Edgar Dean Edwards age 71 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday October 20, 2006 in Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on July 11, 1935 in Carroll County, Va. to the late John Edgar and Pearl Burcham Edwards. He is survived by his wife Nina Stanley Edwards; daughter & son-in-law, Charlene & Ronnie Sawyers all of Galax, Va.; step-son & wife, Lynwood & Robin Funk of Buchanan, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law, Ruby & Tommy Tuttle of Walnut Cove, N.C.; Opal & Garland Walters of Galax, Va.; Gail & Jim Edwards of Mt. Airy, N.C.; brothers
& sisters-in-law, Lionel Edwards of Fancy Gap, Va.; Keith & Ruth Edwards, Reece & Eula Edwards; Lonnie & Peggy Edwards all of Galax, Va.; Vincent & Dorothy Edwards of Culpepper, Va.; Neal & Rose Edwards of Martinsville, Va.; one step-grandson; two step-granddaughters and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday October 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett and Rev. Lonnie Edwards oficiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
