Edgar Rudolph Barr age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 24,2010 at Valley Health Care in Chilhowie, Virginia.
Mr. Barr was born on April 12, 1938 in Carroll County, Virginia to Elmer and Fannie Quesinberry Barr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives Elizabeth Barr, Geneva Barr and Eleanor Barr; great-granddaughter Skylar Sain and special friend Mary Mayberry.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Mary and Bobby Nester of Hillsville, Va.; step-children and spouse Merrell and Vicki Ward of Chilhowie, Va.; Stephanie Bolt and Julie Kennedy both of Lenoir, N.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law Beulah and Hurley Hawks of Galax, Va.; Gaynell and Alfred Thompson of Hillsville, Va.; Margaret Bowman of Ararat, Va.; several grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Bluemont Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. David Moore officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
