Earnest Jeremiah Calfee's Obituary
Earnest Jeremiah Calfee age 70 of Galax, Va. passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Earnest was born on April 15, 1940 in Carroll County, Virginia to Power and Artie Mae Sizemore Calfee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Ray Calfee and Everett Calfee and a special nephew Shane Alderman.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Burcham Calfee of Galax, Va.; sister-in-law Faye P. Calfee of Glen Allen, Va.; six nieces; five nephews; special family friends Jimmy and Jackie Cockerham, Rachel, Emily and Milo.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ousley, Rev. Daryl Williams and Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
