Earl Leo Murphy age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday December 22, 2021 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Murphy was born in Slab Fork West Virginia on August 21, 1933 to Fred and Josephine Bailey Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Della Jane Horton Murphy and siblings Vergie Meakin and Clinton Murphy.

Mr. Murphy proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Sherri and James Fender of Woodlawn, Virginia; Earlene and Margarito Carranza of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Di Murphy of Galax, Virginia; sisters Eva Felts and Truby Davis of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; brother Clinton Murphy; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private for the family. The family respectfully request no flowers and donations may be made to the Baywood Rescue Squad.
