Dylis Dean Newman age 72 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Blue Ridge/ Golden Living Center in Galax, Virginia.
Dylis was born on July 27, 1940 in Carroll County, Virginia to Lennie Jordan and Margaret Beatrice King Newman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Linnie Ray Newman.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Faye Newman of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughter Dawn Newman of Woodlawn, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Tony and Lisa Newman of Galax, Virginia; sisters Bobby Fender of Woodlawn, Virginia; Betty Stanford of Galax, Virginia; Elouise Viares of Maryland; brothers Jay Newman of Independence, Virginia; Roger Newman of Hillsville, Virginia; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
