Durward (Stan) Stanley Carpenter

Durward Stanley Carpenter known as Stan Carpenter age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, June 5, 2026 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Stan was born on December 19, 1958 in Galax, Virginia to Durward and Edith Virginia Jones Carpenter.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Rachel and Adam Helm of West Virginia, Karla and Adam Moore of Hillsville, Virginia; grandchildren Jacob Helm; Enan Helm; Aliza Helm; Konrad Zimmerman and Mickey Moore; sister Nona Donithan of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister -in-law John and Connie Carpenter of Galax, Virginia; Jimmy Carpenter of Hillsville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

A private burial will be held for the family. A public gathering will be held Monday, June 8 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, at Calvary Baptist Church.
