Douglas Eugene Layne age74 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at his home.

Douglas was born in Danville, Virginia on January 14, 1952 to Andrew Jackson Layne, Jr. and Mildred Louise Funk Layne.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia Hill Layne; son Matthew Layne; stepsons Dale Patton (Stacey); Corey Patton (Elizabeth) and six grandchildren Nicholas (Kyla); Haley; Lexie (Severn); Carsen; Alexis and Brody.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bedsaul officiating. Burial will follow in the Coal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
