Douglas Wainwright Alderman age 65 of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Douglas was born on October 19, 1945 in Carroll County, Virginia to Charles Everette and Hallie McRoberts Alderman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jerry Wayne Alderman.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Alderman of Fries, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Tammy and Richard Alden of Fries, Virginia; Missy and Dannie Martin of Woodlawn, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Ashley Alderman of Fries, Virginia; sister Zenith Moore of Fries, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Roscoe and Lorraine Alderman of Dugspur, Virginia; Frank Alderman; Glenn and Barbara Alderman all of Fries, Virginia; Kenneth and Goldie Alderman; Everette and Dreama Alderman all of Hillsville, Virginia; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Fries Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Tony Vaughan and Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Fries Church of God of Prophecy.
