Dossie Melton Higgins' Obituary
Dossie Melton Higgins age 90 of South Port, North Carolina and formerly of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in North Port.
Mrs. Higgins was born on January 21, 1923 in Carroll County, Virginia to Thomas Wade and Thelma Green Melton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Lee Higgins.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn Sue and Gary Jones of South Port, North Carolina; sister Maude Walker Smith of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Lewis and Nancy Melton of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Nathan Crowe officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
