Dorothy Louise Sharp age 92 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Sharp was born on May 6, 1929 in Carroll County, Virginia to Arthur and Minnie Bowers Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne H. Sharp, Sr. and grandson Michael T. Sharp.

She is survived by her daughters Pat Leonard and JoAnn Mellow; son Wayne H. Sharp, Jr. all of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Harold (Tiny) and Dorothy Smith of Hillsville, Virginia; sister-in-law Betty Jo Smith of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren James L. Payne, Sr. and Tina M. Ports;  great-grandchildren Nicholas Ryan Sharp; James Payne, Jr.  and Brandy Nicole Ports; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the Monta Vista Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
