Dorothy Shumate Mcgrady's Obituary
Dorothy Shumate McGrady age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 in the Hillsville Rehab and Healthcare Center.
Mrs. McGrady was born in Smyth County, Virginia on June 11, 1938 to Deedy Matthew and Tina Davis Shumate.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Tammy and Joe Edwards; Kim and Jimmy Roberts all of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Rob and Kari McGrady of Michigan; six grandchildren and spouse Joshua and Faith Edwards; Tyler McGrady; T.J. McGrady; William McGrady; Gavin McGrady and Laken McGrady; great-grandchild Destiny Bowers; brother and sister-in-law Luther Junior and Helen Shumate of Chilhowie, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Davis Family Cemetery in Chilhowie, Virginia with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
