Dorothy Mae Lawson age 71 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 in Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Lawson was born in Galax, Va. on November 21, 1935 to Kyle Monroe & Bertha Isom. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James D. Lawson and a son Larry Duane Lawson. She is survived by two sons & a daughter-in-law Gary Lawson of Galax, Va.; Brad & Annette Lawson of Cana, Va.; sisters & brother-in-law Beulah Harris; Margaret & Ralph Roberts all of Galax, Va.; brother J.K. Isom of Mt. Airy, N.C.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Camet Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from one until two pm at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
