Dorothy Tolliver Cox age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Dorothy was born on September 16, 1934 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Clark Thomas and Jeneatta Bryson Tolliver.

Dorothy was married to Lester William Cox and their union born four daughters. Her husband Lester and two daughters Audrey Kyle and Angela Cox preceded her in death. Her sons-in-law Arthur Kyle and Jerome Simmons also preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters and son -in-law Harriet Vanessa and Jerry Sales of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Gwendolyn Simmons of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren  and spouse Tanisha and Oscar Osorto, Jr.,; Tambra Kyle, Kemberlea Simmons, Lauren and Victoria Sales great-grandchild Elijah Osorto, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She had a heart full of love, kindness and compassion. She touched so many hearts and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.  A private graveside service will be held for the family.

We look forward to the time when Revelation 21: 3-4 will be fulfilled. The time when death will be no more.
