Dorothy Mae Combs Carper age 85 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Monday February 24, 2025 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Carper was born on August 9,1939 in Carroll County, Virginia to Howard and Alice Edwards Combs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Benny Carper.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Cathy Kellis of Woodlawn, Virginia; Susan and Anthony Oliver of Leighton, Alabama; Cynthia and Earl Coleman of Hinesville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law  Anthony (Tony) and Rhonda Carper of Galax, Virginia; sisters Faye Spears and Eileen Dillard both of Woodlawn, Virginia; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor John Leek officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
