Dorothy Hazel Bond, 85, of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her home. Dorothy was born September 1, 1930 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Gilbert Henry Anders and Rennie Hollingsworth Anders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Simpson Bond, son Fairbanks Bond and grandson Robbie Faulkner.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda and Darrell Leonard of Fries, Virginia; Patsy and John Hill of Galax, Virginia; Terry Elina Funk of Fries, Virginia; Melodie and Jeff Huffman of Galax, Virginia; son Gary Douglas Bond of Galax, Virginia; six grandchildren: Christy Brown, Jennifer Aldred, Gary Funk, Emily Moretz, Brandie Delp and Dustin Huffman, as well and fifteen (15) great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Grace Baptist Church, Fries, Virginia with Rev. Ben Haga officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery, Fries, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 27, 2016 at Grace Baptist Church from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
