Dorothy Lois Alderman's Obituary
Dorothy Lois Alderman age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Alderman was born on April 10, 1919 in Dickerson County, Virginia to Joseph Preston and Beulah Blanche Blanchett Rakes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Roby Alderman; son Roger Alderman and grandson Shane Alderman.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Violet and Jim Beamer; Lois Alderman; sons and daughters-in-law Donnie and Linda Alderman; Mitchell and Arlowene Alderman all of Galax, Virginia; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Dr. Brian Alderman and Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Alderman Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
