Doris Mae Patterson Vaught age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday August 5, 2023 at her home.

Mrs. Vaught was born on June 13, 1933 in Galax, Virginia to Robert Sloan and Willie Mae Moore Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother James C. (JC) Patterson.

She is survived by her husband Doug Vaught of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Lisa Vaught of Blacksburg, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Jerry Stewart of Ronoke, Virginia; grandchildren  Nicholas Vaught (Brianna Hughes) of Baltimore, Maryland,; Sean Amos of Midlothian,  Virginia; Cory Anne Vaught of Washington DC; Patrick Amos of Christiansburg, Virginia; Grayson Amos of Roanoke, Virginia; great-grandchildren Arthur and Teddy Hughes-Vaught; special friends Betty and Herbert Graham.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Monta Vista Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
