Doris Kaye Cox Richardson age 57 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her home. Kaye was born on October 1, 1951 in Grayson County, Va. to Golden Daniel & Edna Belle Miller Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Joe Richardson and brothers Kyle Cox and Billie Joe Cox. She is survived by her daughter Tara Kennedy of Galax, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law Sylvia Fields of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; Shirley & Jean Worrell; Sue & Randall Hawks all of Fancy Gap, Rubye & P.G. Bobbitt of Galax, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Robert Junior & Zona Cox of Independence, Va.; Ray & Shirley Cox of Galax, Va.; sister-in-law Kathleen Cox of Galax, Va.; three grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 8:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Joe Carrico officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Burial will held Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Coal Creek Cemetery.
