Doris Jones, age 74, Galax, VA died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 in Golden Living Nursing Home, Galax. Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 18,1938 to Bruce & Gladys Hawks Wright in Grayson County, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Jones.

She is survived by one son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Delia Porter, Galax, VA; one grandson, Marcus Porter; sisters and husbands, Alyse Bryant, Salem, VA, Peggy Truitt, Elon, NC, Betty Holder, Mt. Airy, NC, Nancy Johnson (Larry), Galax, VA, Sue Lineberry (Jack) Galax, VA. Maxine Robertson, Elon, NC; brothers and wives: Ronnie Wright(Roberta), Galax, VA, Hascal Wright (Ann), Galax, VA, Don wright(Susie), Ft. Stewart, GA, Jack Wright (Barbara), Galax, VA, Bill Wright (Barbara), Providence, Dale Wright, Rural Retreat, VA, Thirty nieces & nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA. The Rev. Ted Bartlett will be the officiating minister.
