Doris Helvey Fender Akers' Obituary
Doris Helvey Fender Akers age 90 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at her home.
Mrs. Akers was born in Grayson County, Virginia on January 29, 1927 to Andrew and Bertha Riggins Fender. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Akers and a daughter Glenda Akers Lyons.
She is survived by a daughter Linda Akers of Fries, Virginia; granddaughter Lora Lyons; sister Jean Kemp of Galax, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
