Donnie Lee Dixon, age 70, of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday April 29, 2025 in Forsyth Medical Center.

Donnie was born in Galax, Virginia on July 19, 1954 to Clayton Owen and Betty Ruth Sawyers Dixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Donnie Keith Dixon and a sister Dama Dixon Sumner Alderman.

Donnie proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Jennings Dixon; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Lee Coomes, all of Galax, Virginia; son Christopher Dixon of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law Dianne and Ernest Davis of Fries, Virginia; three grandchildren Matthew Coomes, Emily Coomes, and Dylan Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Galax Country Club Municipal Building.
