Donna Kay Sumner

Donna Kay Sumner age 73 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at her home.

Donna was born on December 15, 1952 in Galax, Virginia to Andrew Gates and Gracie Beatrice Lineberry Mabe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Larry Mabe and Gary Mabe. She is survived by her husband Jesse Lee Sumner; daughter and son-in-law Rosetta Grace Edwards and Chris Todd; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Lesa Mabe all of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren Geoffrey Lee Edwards and Shane David Williams; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; special friends Jewel Grimes and Melissa Gravely.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM in the Lineberry Cemetery with Billy Burnette and Sammy Burnette officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
