Donald Ray Payne age 75 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Donald was born on October 9, 1939 in Grayson County, Virginia to Verlin and Goldie Alexander Payne. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by and a brother David Payne.

In addition to his mother Goldie Alexander Payne of Galax, Virginia he is survived by his wife Patsy Blevins of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Charlotte and Todd Sharp of King, North Carolina; Tim and Rhonda Payne; Roy and Alice Payne all of Galax, Virginia; step-children and spouses Jeannie and Sam Holderfield of Woodlawn, Virginia; John and Rhonda Roberts of Galax, Virginia; Robbie Felts of Galax, Virginia; Linda and Tony Gartman of Seminole, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law Rachel and Rick Richardson; Lois and Larry Cornett all of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Roger and Betty Payne; Raymond and Brenda Payne; Clayton and Diane Payne; Freddie and Cathy Payne all of Galax, Virginia; Doug and Darlene Payne of Florida; grandchildren Levi Sharp; Dakota Payne; Gabrielle Carrico; Dereck Carrico; Charles Carrico; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Camp Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Jackie Delp and the Rev. Sam Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends at the Camp Zion Church Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time for the graveside service.
