Donald Merle Barker better known as Donnie Barker age 73 of Galax, Virgina passed away Tuesday February 27, 2024 at his home.

Donnie was born on March 7, 1950 in Galax, Virginia to Clarence Merle and Lila Leone Rector Barker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Ann Robinson Barker.

Donnie proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by son and special friend  Wes Barker and Stacy Sink; son and daughter-in-law  Will and Jessica Barker; granddaughter Carli Love; sister Sharon Barker; brother David Barker all of Galax, Virginia; brother-in; law and wife Benny and Diane Robinson; two nieces Avery Dalton and Mary Ashley Montgomery; two nephews David Franklin Barker and Jon Robinson .

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Blue Ridge Chapel Church with Pastor Mark Mays and Pastor David Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church.
