Donald Lee Manuel age 89 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Manuel was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 18, 1924 to Lisco and Lula Belle Turner Manuel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jackie Manuel; sister Dorothy Williams and brothers Homer Manuel, Wesley Manuel, Arlis Manuel and William Manuel and his mother-in-law Frances Hodges.

Mr. Manuel proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife Imojean Manuel of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Susie and Curlee Horton of Fairview, North Carolina; Sally and Jimmy Anders of Independence, Virginia; Carolyn and Wayne Roberts of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Johnny and Martha Manuel of Rutherfordton, North Carolina; Jimmy and Carol Manuel of Ridgeway, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Cliffview Church of God with Pastor Ron Hill, Pastor D.G. Fox and the Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral service at the Cliffview Church of God.
