Donald Eugene Hensdell, 58, passed away Saturday October 28, 2006 in North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. He was born November 1, 1947 in Carroll County, VA to Elmer Glen Hensdell and Daisy Elizabeth Burnett Hensdell.

He is survived by his daughter, Erin Hensdell of Galax, a step son, Eric Hensdell of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers and one sister-in-law: James & Sharon Hensdell, and Elmer Hensdell, Jr. all of Galax; three sisters & brothers-in-law: Hazel Brown, Joyce & Allen Lineberry all of Hillsville, Betty & Guy Lawless of Ocklawaha, Florida, and a grandson Kirk Wagg. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Monta Vista Cemetery with Rev. Sam Holder officiating.Military rites were conducted at the gravesite by Hillsville VFW Post #1115. There was no visitation at the funeral home.
