Donald Gayle Hackler age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday April 5, 2022 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Donald was born in Roanoke, Virginia on November 16, 1944 to Don J. and Grace Elizabeth Liddle Hackler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Larry Hackler.

He is survived by his wife Janet Patton Hackler of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Jay Phipps of Independence, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Megan Phipps; Brett and McKenna Phipps; great-grandchild Jaylee Kyle; sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and David Wright; sister-in-law Judy  Hackler all of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Terri Gregory and the Rev. Butch Isom officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
