Donald Shelton "D.S." Houk, 86, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday November 24, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Mr. Houk was born in Grayson County, Virginia on January 4, 1932 to Mack and Fannie Moser Houk. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Donald Scott Houk.

He is survived by his wife Frances Hale Houk; daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Vinton Quesenberry; and son and daughter-in-law John and Sherry Houk, all of Galax, Virginia. Also surviving are two granddaughters; one grandson; eight great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law MaryAnn and TR Hollensworth of Sophia, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Joe and Linda Houk of Galax, Virginia, and Bobby and Zandra Houk of Fries, Virginia; special brother-in-law Larry Hale; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Houk's service will be held at Vaughan-Guynn Chapel in Galax, Virginia on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at 2pm with Rev. David Spivey, Rev. Keith Ledford, and Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Family will receive friends before the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home from 1pm until 2pm. Interment will follow at Monta Vista Cemetery in Galax, Virginia with full military rights performed by the Grayson VFW Post 7726 Memorial Honor Guard.
