Don J. Hackler's Obituary
Don J. Hackler age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 in the Forsyth Medical Center.
Mr. Hackler was born in Grayson County, Virginia on May 6, 1923 to Wiley and Ennis McGrady Hackler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son James Larry Hackler.
He is survived by his wife Grace Elizabeth Liddle Hackler; daughter and son-in-law Phyllis H. and David Wright; son and daughter-in-law Don G. and Janet Hackler; daughter-in-law Judy Hackler all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and husbands Kim and Jay Phipps; Janna and Therron Billings; great-grandchildren Megan Phipps; Brett Phipps; Nicholas Sage; Matthew Billings and Levi Billings; sister Vena Rhudy of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Joe Dean and Blanche of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 3:00 pm in the Gladeville United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Fiorini and Rev. Doug Hyndrich officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from one until service time at Gladeville United Methodist Church.
