Dillard Daniel Mawyer age 76 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Mawyer was born on November 30, 1931 in Belmont, North Carolina to Dillard Daniel & Kathleen Virginia McGunn Mawyer. He is survived by his wife Sue Mawyer; son & daughter-in-law Barry Thomas & Theresa Mawyer all of Galax, Va; grandson & spouse Bradley Allen & Mary Mawyer all of Galax, Va.; sister Sybil Smith of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Gary Wilson & Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
