Dewey Franklin Stuart, Sr., age 81, of Fries,Virginia passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA. Mr. Stuart was born to George Martin Stuart and Jenny King Stuart on March 3, 1931 in Wythe County,Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Eleanor Jacqueline Stuart and Julia Shorter Stuart and daughter Amy Stuart.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Eugene Moore; Debra and Bill Shaffner; Karen and Johnny Dickson all of Fries; son and daughter-in-law: Dewey (Bo) Stuart Jr. and Ann also of Fries; brother and sister-in-law Garnett and Mabel Stuart of Pine Mountain; nine grandchildren: Joy, Dustin, Jarrett, Philip, Marissa, Amber, John Mark, Kim, Natasha, and their spouses; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 16,2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Steve Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home.
