Dewey Camden Carter's Obituary
Dewey Camden Carter age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
Mr. Carter was born in West Virginia on October 22, 1922 to George T. and Hattie Bottomley Carter.
He is survived by his wife Alma Grace Smith Carter of Galax, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Mary Leda Treptow of Georgia; Hattie Mae and Jim Bedsaul of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Larry Joseph and Tami Carter of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Melissa Shore Bost; Phineas Grant Treptow; Teresa Lynn Hill; Phoebe Wilson; Naomi Zora Coats; Michael Darin Carter; eight great- grandchildren; step-daughter and husband Joyce and Gil Hatch of Port St. Luci, Florida; step-son and wife Jim and Irene Shupe of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Edmonds Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family request no food please.
