Derek Van Rose age 59 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at his home.

Derek was born on January 8, 1967 in Galax, Virginia to Van Perry and Carolyn Douglas Rose. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leff and Margie Douglas; paternal grandparents Ellis Price and Wilma Fisher Rose.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his son and daughter-n-law Derek and Ashley Rose of Galax, Virginia; father and step-mother Van Perry and Sheila Rose of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Teresa and Jerry Hughes of Pulaski, Virginia; several nieces and nephews ex-wife and the mother of his son Beate Kunas..

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 18th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
