Delta Faye Sumner Burcham age 87 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Trinity Mission in Hillsville, Virginia.
Mrs. Burcham was born on June 12, 1926 in Carroll County, Virginia to Andrew Porter Sumner and Margaret Christley Sumner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Orbon Burcham; daughters Joyce Carico and Linda Funk; grandson Brant Carico.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Linda Burcham of Galax, Virginia; Perry and Beverly Burcham of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Christy and Richard Flanagan, Lindsay and Anthony Edwards, Sandon and Juli Carico, Chad and Jenifer Funk, Kevin and Erin Burcham; seven great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Colene and Bud Cromer of Roanoke, Virginia; sisters-in-law Beulah Sumner of Hillsville, Virginia and Ruby Burcham of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. David Moore and Rev. Lonnie Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Crooked Creek Cemetery Fund, 571 Millstone Road Woodlawn, Virginia 24381.
