Dellie Irene Carico age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Carico was born in Carroll County, Virginia on January 12, 1935 to Homer Nicholas and Maggie Florine Christley Fender. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers Porter Fender; James Fender; Earnest "Buzz" Fender and James Carroll Smith.

She is survived by her husband K.T. Carico of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Michael Hall of Elk Creek, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Khy Carico and Beth Worrell of Galax, Virginia; Gary and Sherrie Carico of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Teddy Joe and Nancy Fender of Maryland; Bobby "Bill" and De Smith of Galax, Virginia; Homer "Dugan" and Barbara Fender of Delaware; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
