Deborah Jean Orduna Garcia age 62 of Sparta, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital.

Deborah was born on August 20, 1951 in Havre De Grace, Maryland to Thomas Guynn and Barbara Alice Long Spurlin.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Paulino Santiago of Sparta, North Carolina; sons and daughter-in-law Robert and Candice Joseph; Paul Joseph all of Sparta, North Carolina; Randy Joseph of Pennsylvania; sisters and brothers-in-law Delores Musick of Glade Valley, North Carolina; Barbara and Sherman Little of Sparta, North Carolina; Sharon and Clay Banks of Pennsylvania; brothers and sisters -in-law Thomas Guynn Spurlin, Jr. of Piney Creek, North Carolina; Fred and Brenda Spurlin of Pennsylvania; half-sisters and spouse Thelma and Clifford Hodge of Sparta, North Carolina; Sarah Perry of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; a very special granddaughter Skiely Joseph; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Piney Creek Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon at the New Covenant Church.
