Deborah Marie "Debbie" Mayfield, 57, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at her residence in Thermopolis after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born April 21, 1957, in Galax, Virginia, she was the daughter of Dewey and Ina (Mays) Shupe. Debbie graduated from high school in Fries, VA.
On May 3, 1981, she married Jack H. Mayfield, in Fries. To this union was born two sons.
She and her husband were factory workers in the textile industry in Fries. In 2009 the couple moved to Thermopolis, WY.
A member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Fries, she attended Community Federated Church in Thermopolis. She enjoyed socializing with her Christian family and her TOPS group. Her southern drawl was a joy to her friends.
Loved ones surviving include her husband of 33 years; sons, Alan of the Denver area and Lee Mayfield of Virginia; grandson, Coda; in-laws, Mel and Marge Slack, Thermopolis and several uncles and aunts. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dewey Shupe.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Mortimore Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
