Deanna Mechelle Simone, 52, of Woodlawn, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2025, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Mount Airy, NC Mechelle lived a life marked by love, compassion, and faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Simone, and is survived by her fiancé, Stacy Smith; her beloved mother, Patricia Simone; her brother and best friend, Billy Simone; her children, Chevelle Simone and fiance' Albert Spivey, Billy Carico, & Dakota Bullion (Alexa); as well as four cherished granddaughters, three grandsons, four nephews, and one great-niece.

Mechelle's life was a testament to selflessness. Known as a prayer warrior, she loved Jesus deeply and shared His love through her kindness and compassion. She gave generously to others, even if it meant she went without, and her unconditional love touched everyone who knew her. Her brother described her best — as both an awesome sister and a true best friend.

She enjoyed baking, creating art, and spending time with her family. She especially loved being with her two dogs, Bella and Max, who brought her so much joy. To her family and friends, Mechelle was a bright light whose presence was a blessing and whose memory will be forever cherished.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor  Angie Lineberry and Pastor Sammy Holderfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.

Though she is gone, we will see her hand in every painted sunset above.
