David Lee Owens age 46 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. David was born in Galax, Va. on April 26, 1962 to Lee Baumgardner & Gladys Porter Owens. He is survived by his son Michael David Owens of Galax, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law Patricia & Jack Sells, Patricia "Crickett" Hill all of Galax, Va.; Bertha & John McKinney of Independence, Va.; brothers Danny Baumgardner and Charles Baumgardner both of Galax, Va.; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 15,2009 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Darrin Brannock officiating. Burial will follow in Galax City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
