David Obediah Leonard age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday April 13, 2023 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. Leonard was born in Galax, Virginia on December 15, 1934, to Champion and Callie Bourne Leonard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jo Smith Leonard, daughter Tammie Jo Hazelwood, son Richard Sheldon Leonard; sisters Virginia Sandy, Frances Frick and Mary Leonard; brothers Oklen Leonard and Floyd Leonard.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Katrina Leonard Holbrook and Patrick of Collinsville, Virginia; son Jack Leonard of Fries, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3:30 PM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the  Mt. Valley Hospice or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
