David Allen "Bud" Nelson, age 67, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday December 25, 2021 in his home.

Bud was born on July 21, 1954 in Richlands, Virginia to the late Carl Homer and Mary Johnson Nelson.

He is survived by his wife Patti Nelson of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Lindsey and Tom Logue of Bluffton, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Matt and Ali Nelson of Bluffton, South Carolina; grandchildren Brody and Braxton Logue, Grant Nelson; sister Doris Ratliff of Cedar Bluff, Virginia; brother Lawrence Homer Nelson of Richlands, Virginia.; two nieces and two nephews.

The memorial service will be held Thursday December 30, 2021 at 3:00PM in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Kevin Rosenfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until time of the service. The family has required that a mask be worn at all times while inside of the church .
