Darrell Edward Swinney age 69 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday April 6, 2022 at his home.

Darrell was born in Fries, Virginia on August 6, 1952 to Vincent and Anna Hodge Swinney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Debra Johnson Swinney.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Misty and Danny Pell of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; sons Daniel Swinney of Fries, Virginia; Travis Kinzer of Galax, Virginia; sister Joyce Moxley of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sister-in-law Junior Swinney; Timmy and Cindy Swinney all of Fries, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Chuck Edwards officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private for the family.
